Hidden beneath Vine Street, right in the heart of the City of London, lies an extraordinary piece of London’s history: a section of the Roman Wall – including one of the Wall’s bastions. Developer’s uncovered this historic treasure when they began laying the foundation work for a new block of student flats. They set out not just to preserve the Wall but to open up this incredible archaeological site to the wider public. Metaphor were asked to work with curators at the Museum of London to design an exhibition that would showcase not just the wall itself, but all of the artefacts unearthed on the site from across its nearly two-thousand-year history.
