Metaphor was the lead architect and exhibition designer for this project, collaborating with conservation architect Donald Insall. A neglected service yard was turned into the central space at the heart of the museum. We designed a new roof that retained views of the medieval stonework, devised a new museum entrance incorporating the restored original Gatehouse, and turned lancet windows into showcases.
